Our Purpose
Fellowship Baptist Church exists to make disciples who are surrendered, surrounded, serving, and sent in order to share the Good News of Jesus Christ and bring glory to God.
Surrendered
An effective life is a surrendered life. When we surrender to God, we give our schedules, decisions, finances, and directions over to Him.
Galatians 2:20 "I have been crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me."
Serving
A serving life is a life poured out for others. We can serve others only because we have been served and are still being served by Christ.
Acts 13:12-15 "So after he had washed their feet, and had taken his garments, and was set down again, he said unto them, Know ye what I have done to you? Ye call me Master and Lord: and ye say well; for so I am. If I then, your Lord and Master, have washed your feet; ye also ought to wash one another’s feet. For I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done to you."
Surrounded
A surrounded life is lived in Christian community. Biblical community is a group of people who are committed to following Christ and encouraging each other to be more like Him.
Acts 2:42-47 "And they continued stedfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers. And fear came upon every soul: and many wonders and signs were done by the apostles.
And all that believed were together, and had all things common; and sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as every man had need. And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart, praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved."
Sent
In the Great Commission, Jesus calls us to live a sent life. We want to be a church who spreads the Gospel by sending our disciples to all nations. We believe that the success of a church is measured by its sending capacity.
Matthew 28: 19,20 "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world."
